Check out our before and after pictures from the day.  We may be smiling in the "after" but we were pooped!

My kids God-mother Brawnnie Lott.

Do you have a goal for this year?
Yes, complete 27/5

Mommy duties and trying to take over the world!

Congrats Comet on being our September 2018 Skater of the Month!!

What is the origin of your derby name?

The gals gave me my derby name during my first practice, probably because I couldn't skate and came in too hot!

How did you discover derby?
Rosie gave a speech about derby in our mutual class, and it sounded super interesting. I reached out, went to my first practice that day, and have been going ever since.

Go you have a goal for this year?
I would love to work on my endurance for jamming as well as finding strategies for taller derby players to hit hard in the right places without compromising their own balance.

What advice do you have for new skaters?
Keep coming to practice! I was super frustrated with not making progress as quickly as I wanted to but then I started skating almost every day and really committed myself, and I've made leaps and bounds in the last few months.

What do you do in real life?
I'm currently a 3rd year undergraduate student at the University of Oregon where I'll be studying English and Deaf Studies. I work as a Registered Behavior Technician with children with Autism, and I'm a beta reader for novels as a hobby.

Queen of chaos

Congrats to Queen of Chaos for being our June 2018 Skater of the Month!  Here's what Skull'd U has to say about Queen:
"She's been helping with practice, passed 27/5, working super hard to bout, and is even going to be a guest player for her very first time."

What is the origin of your derby name and/or number?
My #209 is for my hometown Stockton CA. My name comes from my love of Alice in Wonderland and chaos seems to follow me everywhere...

How did you discover derby?
My water aerobics instructor asked me if I'd ever wanted to play roller derby. Before I could answer, my best friend said yes it's always been her dream.  Then I ended up joining the team the next week.

Do you have a goal for this year?
To knock off the last 13 seconds to get my 27/5 (CONGRATS to you, you did it!)

What advice do you have for new skaters?
Stay low and don't be afraid to fall, we all do :)

What are your non-derby hobbies?

Reading and collecting strange nick-knacks.

What do you do in real life?
I am a den mother to a pack of wild animals and kids.
